Verb to be



Verb to be affirmative form

      O verbo to be no tempo presente, apresenta as formas: am, is e are. Ele pode ser traduzido como ser ou estar.

Forma afirmativa (affirmative form):
I am - eu sou / eu estou
You are - você é / você está
He is - ele é / ele está
She is - ela é / ela está
It is - ele/ela é ; ele/ela está
We are - nós somos / nós estamos
You are - vocês são / vocês estão
They are - eles/elas são ; eles/elas estão


Forma contraída – contract form:
Substituímos a primeira vogal do verbo por um apóstrofo.
I am - I’m
You are - You’re
He is - He’s                                                
She is - She’s
It is - It’s
we are - We’re
you are - You’re                                                            
they are -  They’re

Ex: He is studying english literature.
      They are walking on the street.
